DME Academy is set to elevate its soccer training game with the launch of a new initiative: “Friday Extra’s” led by A-licensed Coach Tim Betts. These one-hour sessions, scheduled for Fridays, will offer specialized training for defenders, midfielders, and attackers.  The groups will rotate weekly and be broken down by age and positional categories. Academy members should check Spond over the coming weeks to find out when the sessions take place.

Designed to refine individual skills and bolster technical ability, “Friday Extras” presents a dynamic approach to soccer development. Each week, the program rotates between defenders, midfielders, and attackers, concentrating on honing skills that align seamlessly with DME’s style of play. For instance, one session might delve into the technical nuances of building out of the back, emphasizing aspects like hip positioning for defenders, ball reception with purpose, and strategic decision-making for a smoother build-up from the back (e.g. knowing your options/angles).

Starting this October, these high-value practice sessions will take place at the Tatum Ridge Fields, providing an accessible and dynamic training ground for our athletes. The best part? “Friday Extra’s” is exclusively available to DME Academy club members and comes at no additional cost. It’s a testament to DME’s commitment to holistic player development and furthering the excellence of its players and teams.
