Competitive Program · Ages 7–19

Committed & PassionatePlayers Only.

Your athlete doesn’t have to arrive as the best soccer player. They do have to want to get better — technically, tactically, physically, and mentally — and be willing to put in the work.

The leagues. The soccer curriculum. The coaching. The calendar. The cost. It’s all here, and it’s all in the open.

Rolling admissions — we evaluate year-round, not one weekend in May.

The Standard

Competitive &
Committed Culture.

We demand focused, competitive and committed participation from our soccer athletes and their families. This doesn't mean your athlete has to be the best. It does mean they are willing to work to be the best version of themselves.

We expect our athletes and their families to share that vision when it comes to development — and we hold ourselves to the same line.

We practice to win.
We play to win.

What We Ask Of You
  • Turn up. Every session, on time, ready to work.
  • Back the coach in front of your athlete, and bring the questions to us directly.
  • Commit to the season — August through April, high school season included.
  • Let your player be coached, corrected and pushed.
What You Get Back
  • A-licensed & top coaches who have been in your athlete’s shoes.
  • Small-group and technical work inside the curriculum — no side lessons needed.
  • More games, more tournaments and more minutes than anyone in the region.
  • A published pathway: leagues, showcases, college placement, pro trials.

Coaching Philosophy

What Makes
A Good Coach?

Someone who motivates your athlete through observant, knowledgeable, positive, firm and clear communication. Coaching is more than a few hours a week on a field in a group setting — we get to know your child as a player and a person, on and off the field.

Understanding their goals, their skill set, their weaknesses and their personality is what lets us develop them as players and leaders. We bring a wealth of A-licensed coaches, but simply put: we build confident, well-rounded, tactically sound, hard-working players.

We know you're all paying for those personal lessons on the side. If your athlete needs more training beyond our club efforts at DME, reach out — we'll match them with one of our twenty coaches, all SafeSport verified, with a proven track record of playing or coaching in the game.

Style Of Play

Possession, With Teeth.

Fast-paced possession to unbalance the opposition, high pressure to win it back in their half, and a counter when the game allows. Tap a principle — the board plays it.

Disciplined possession from the back. Fearless creativity in the final third.

In the attacking third we want players taking defenders on, creating overloads and winning 1v1 battles. Great attacking players should not fear a mistake.

01  High Press, Win It High

Our biggest strength is adaptability. Teams may be more direct or more pragmatic depending on the level and the game — the principles do not move.

How Every Session Runs

Fundamentals Over Flash.

Every DME coach runs the same framework. Not a drill list — a standard. Five blocks, every session, every age group, all of it engineered around one number.

2,000Touches Per Session

01

Dynamics — On & Off The Ball

Mobility, acceleration and deceleration, change of direction — run together with scanning, body shape and first-touch direction. What a player does in the two seconds before the ball arrives decides what happens after it does.

Warm-Up & Awareness

Mandatory

02

Technical Block

High-volume repetition on one thing at a time — volley work, striking, receiving under pressure. Technique built to hold up when a player is tired and marked. This block does not get cut for a scrimmage.

Maximizing Technique

03

Position-Specific

At least once a month every team splits by position — defenders, midfielders, forwards. Centre backs play out of pressure. Midfielders open their hips and receive on the half-turn. Forwards time runs and finish in two touches. Specialists, without losing the complete footballer.

Breakdowns

04

Small-Sided & Possession

More touches, more decisions and more duels per minute than any 11v11 session can give. This is where the technical block gets tested.

Game Speed

05

Cooldown

Never an afterthought. Down-regulation, mobility and a short debrief, so the session ends with the lesson said out loud.

Recover & Review

Approved Vocabulary

The DME Dictionary.

One club, one language. Every coach on every field uses the same words, so a player who moves up an age group already understands the session. Search it — then listen for it on the touchline.

Questions, Answered.

What are the 2026/27 player fees?

Every number is on the Year & Fees card above — deposit, yearly fee, pay-in-full price and the seven-payment plan, by age band.

Beyond the club fee there is a uniform package, and tournament fees that align with the schedule shared at evaluation. An initial tournament fee is collected by November, with any additional expenses added later if necessary. The deposit is non-refundable.

Does DME offer discounts & financial aid?

Yes, of course.

  • Team liaison / manager role — $100 off
  • Multi-child — $100 off each additional child
  • Full-time student-athlete at DME School — $1,000 off
  • Female athletes — a further $1,000 off DME School

Need-based scholarships and financial aid run through Futbol For All, our non-profit. Request by emailing paula@dmeacademysarasota.com.

Where does DME practice and play?

We use several facilities across Sarasota and Manatee counties. The majority of our time is spent at Premier Sports Campus, Fruitville Park and Tatum Ridge Elementary School.

How many teams will you have in each age group?

At most two, and that is not promised. If we believe our second team is a first team compared to other clubs in the area, we will offer a second-team option. Our teams are called Black (first team) and Blue (second team).

What leagues do you play in?

We are members of both U.S. Club Soccer and FYSA. Our U13–U19 boys (2014–2008) compete in MLS NEXT, the National Academy League and the Elite Academy League. On the girls side we play in Girls Academy Aspire through our partnership with FC Sarasota, plus the Florida Academy League, the NPL and our own G1 Series. Younger teams and second teams play in the National 1 League and the West Florida Premier League.

How do I get my player evaluated?

We run rolling admissions. Fill out the form — it takes two minutes — and we come back to you with a date, a time and the age group your player fits. That may be an open tryout weekend or a private evaluation on a normal training night, depending on when you reach us.

The full evaluation guide is here, including what a session looks like and what to bring.
