DME Academy Returns From WAGS Tournament in Virginia

October 14, 2025

Four teams, one mission: compete with the nation’s best.

This past weekend, DME Academy made its mark at the prestigious WAGS Soccer Tournament in Virginia — one of the premier girls’ showcases in the country. Four of our teams stepped onto the field against elite competition from across the U.S., representing DME’s growing reputation for excellence, development, and grit at every age level.

⚽ 2009 DME Tiki Taka – Top Bracket Contenders

The 09 DME Tiki Taka squad set the tone early, finishing with an impressive 2–1 record in the top bracket. Their only loss came in a thrilling, back-and-forth battle that ultimately decided the group. Playing some of their best soccer of the season, the team proved they belong among the best — showing composure, skill, and discipline in every match.

💪 2012 DME Girls – Undefeated and Unshakable

Our 2012 Girls showed tremendous growth and tactical adaptability, going undefeated (1–0–2) against three top-10 ranked teams from their respective states. They competed in bracket 2 of 14. Competing at this level forced them to evolve their style — and they rose to the challenge.

🌟 2014 DME Girls – First Taste of the Elite Level

For the 2014 Girls, WAGS was their first real experience in an elite national tournament. Playing in Bracket 4 of 9, they battled hard, tying two matches and dropping one against teams from Texas and Virgina. While results didn’t swing their way, the weekend served as an invaluable learning moment. The girls now have a crystal-clear picture of the standard they’re chasing — and the determination to get there.

🔥 2016 DME Girls (Tampa) – Battling the Best

The 2016 Girls from Tampa stepped into the top bracket and faced a gauntlet of ranked teams — two #1s and one #2 from their respective states. Despite the tough draw, they earned a 2–2 tie against the eventual bracket winners and played competitively in every game, including against TopHat from GA. Their courage and competitiveness were undeniable.

🏁 Building Champions, On and Off the Field

Across all four age groups, DME Academy teams proved they belong. Competing in high brackets against some of the best youth programs in the nation, our girls showcased the DME standard, where we show up, do what is asked and leave it all on the field.

As we return to the training ground this week, the message is clear — we’re right there with the best, and the work continues.
