The Argument

A Real League.
Not Just Another Rec Program.

MLS GO is Major League Soccer’s recreational youth program — built to make soccer fun and affordable, and to get more children playing.

MLS GO is dedicated to an inclusive, high quality soccer experience for everyone. Together we are changing the game in Sarasota and Manatee counties.

The shape is traditional rec — train once a week in a team environment, then play 5v5 games at the weekend. What is different is who runs it. Sessions focus on technical skill development that lines up with what we teach the older, competitive age groups at DME.

Led by our senior coaching staff, this is not just another rec program — but it sure is fun.

Questions

The Ones We Get Asked

What does MLS GO cost?

$175 plus card fees, for the seven week season — and that includes the full kit. Support is available through the MLS GO PLAY FUND.

How much do we practice and play?

Training on Wednesdays at 6:30pm, games on Fridays at 6:00pm. One of each per week.

Who will coach my child?

Our club coaches, supported by DME senior players. Parents with soccer experience may assist a team, but only if approved by the club and cleared through SafeSport safeguards.

Where do you practice and play?

Training Wednesday at Twin Lakes, 6:30pm. Games Friday at Tatum Ridge, 6:00pm.

What do you actually work on?

Technical work and touches. High intensity in terms of how often your child is on the ball — dribbling, turning, receiving and shooting. We put a lot of time into maximizing contact with the ball.

What happens if it rains?

We make up one week of rain or weather related delays.

My child has never played before. Is that OK?

Completely. Games are 5v5, so nobody stands around waiting to be picked and nobody gets lost in a crowd of eleven. This is a good first team for a child who has never played.

What if the cost is a problem?

Tell us. The MLS GO PLAY FUND exists to remove exactly that barrier, with applications handled through the RCX Sports Foundation. Email us and we will point you at it.

Does my child keep the kit?

Yes. Every player is fitted in a full MLS uniform, and it is included in the season price.
