DME Academy Takes on Buenos Aires: A Spring Break to Remember

March 21, 2026

This past Spring Break (2026), DME Academy, Sarasota took its development beyond the training ground and into the heart of one of the world’s most passionate soccer cultures, Buenos Aires, Argentina with Infinity Global Sports as their partner.

With two teams competing against local opposition, the trip was more than just international play. It was an immersive experience in what the game truly means to a country.

Here is the photo gallery from the trip!

Competing on Argentine Soil

DME entered two teams into a competitive slate of matches against Argentine clubs, including Vila, Arsenal Fútbol Club, and Racing Club. Across six matches, the group finished with a strong 4-2 record, showcasing both resilience and quality despite injuries.

Matches were played at club training grounds across Buenos Aires, giving players a firsthand look at how the game is developed at one of the highest levels in the world and intertwined with the local community that surrounds the fields.

Every match brought intensity, pride, and a level of competitiveness that pushed our players outside their comfort zones, into new positions, playing up a few age groups, and that’s exactly the point.

Living the Culture of the Game

In Argentina, soccer isn’t just a sport, it’s a way of life.

The group visited two of the most iconic clubs in the world, Boca Juniors and River Plate, experiencing the history and rivalry that defines Argentine football. But the highlight came in the stands.

DME attended a top-flight match between Platense and Vélez, both sitting in the top five of the league at the time. It marked a historic occasion, the first match in nearly a decade where fans from both sides were allowed in the stadium together and DME was part of this test.

The atmosphere was unforgettable.

From the game-long chants to the energy to the emotion, it was a powerful reminder of how deeply the game is woven into everyday life in Argentina. Passion doesn’t quite do it justice, this is a culture that lives and breathes football.

Training at the Highest Level

Beyond matches and stadiums, players had the opportunity to step inside the engine room of Argentine football with a visit to the Argentine Football Association (AFA).

The group trained under professional AFA staff, gaining insight into the methodology, intensity, and attention to detail that has produced some of the greatest players in the world.

It was an invaluable learning experience, one that reinforced the global standard and inspired players to elevate their own game.

Beyond the Field

Off the field, the trip offered just as much impact.

Staying in the heart of downtown Buenos Aires, the group explored the city on foot—walking to restaurants, cafés, and local shops while taking in the rhythm of daily life.

From authentic empanadas and world-renowned Argentine steak, to sharing traditional mate, players experienced the flavors and traditions that make the culture so unique.

Everywhere the group went, they were met with warmth and hospitality—from local players and coaches to restaurant owners and community members. It was a reminder that the global soccer community is exactly that—a community.

More Than a Trip

Trips like this are about more than wins and losses.

They are about exposure.
They are about growth.
They are about perspective.

For DME Academy, Sarasota this experience reinforced what we believe at our core: developing players means pushing them beyond their environment, into new challenges, new cultures, and new standards.

Buenos Aires delivered all of that and more and we can’t thank Infinity Global Sports and Paula from St. Christophers Sports Tours for the combined effort that made this one an instant classic.

The Journey Continues

As DME continues to expand its international footprint and development opportunities, this trip stands as another milestone in building a truly global pathway for our athletes.

Because at the highest level, soccer isn’t just played, it’s lived. And now, our players have felt that firsthand.
