More than 70 athletes from DME Academy Sarasota recently traveled to DME’s flagship campus in Daytona Beach for a high-energy, week-long boarding camp experience that blended elite training with unforgettable team bonding.
Under the expert tutelage of professional coaches from the Argentine Football Association (AFA), Sarasota players trained three times a day—on grass, turf, and indoor courts. These sessions pushed athletes to elevate their fitness, technical ability, and tactical awareness, with focused drills and high-tempo games tailored for performance across all playing surfaces.
With over 70 athletes in attendance, the energy was nonstop. Whether it was early morning conditioning, afternoon skill development, or evening small-sided games, every player embraced the grind. The AFA coaching staff brought an international perspective that challenged players to think quicker, move smarter, and compete harder with a level of intensity that demands focus.
But the experience didn’t end when the whistle blew. At night, athletes took full advantage of the on-campus rec room, bonded over FIFA tournaments with teammates and staff, and enjoyed classic ice cream socials that helped build lasting friendships. The camp struck a perfect balance between competitive edge and community culture.
“I love when the kids from Sarasota get to experience DME like the full timers do! It’s great for them to take on the responsibility of living the dorm life and then have the playground for athletes that is DME at their fingertips. They come home with a new perspective that shapes their summer and upcoming soccer year.” Jon Taylor
For the Sarasota group, this wasn’t just another camp—it was a chance to live and train like full-time athletes, gaining insight into the daily rhythm of high-performance environments. With new skills, stronger connections, and a fresh spark of motivation, the more than 70 athletes who made the trip returned home sharper, stronger, and more united than ever.
