The First to 100: A Historic Milestone for DME Academy Sarasota

April 21, 2026

At DME Academy Sarasota, we talk often about standards—what it means to train with purpose, compete with intensity, and commit fully to development. Today, we celebrate three athletes who have not only embraced that standard, but elevated it.

Yani Gonzalez, Lucas Turasz, and Gadsden Mann have officially become the first players in DME Academy, Sarasota history to reach 100 career goals.

This isn’t just a number. It’s a reflection of consistency, mindset, and a relentless commitment to growth. Each of these players represents a different path within the academy, but all three share the same foundation: discipline, ambition, and a willingness to push beyond expectations.

Lucas Turasz (2010 NAL)
Lucas has been a driving force behind one of the most dominant teams in the club. Leading the 2010 NAL group to an undefeated season, he has them positioned for a run at Nationals. Beyond DME, Lucas is currently on trial with Sporting Lisbon in Portugal, and trains with the Rowdies Development Team when stateside, a testament to the level he’s reached. Balancing that with his role as a full-time student-athlete at DME Academy, Sarasota at GSI, Lucas embodies what the modern pathway should look like, development on and off the field with the right team in his corner.

Gadsden Mann (2011 NAL)
Gadsden’s story this year is about resilience. Despite missing four months with a leg injury, he has still fought his way back to become one of the top five goal scorers in the club. Leading the 2011 NAL boys, who currently sit top three in the league, Gadsden has proven that impact isn’t just about availability—it’s about mentality. His return has been nothing short of inspiring.

Yani Gonzalez (2012 NPL – Playing Up)
Yani continues to raise the bar on the girls side. Competing a year up, her team currently sits #1 in the NPL, ranked top 10 in the state, with wins over two top-three teams.  As a full-time student-athlete at DME Academy, Sarasota, she represents the future—fearless, competitive, and committed to development at the highest level.

More Than Goals

100 goals is an achievement. But what it represents matters more.

  • Hours no one sees
  • Training sessions done the right way
  • Competing when it’s hard
  • Responding when things don’t go your way

These three players didn’t just score goals, they built habits, earned opportunities, and helped define the culture of DME in Sarasota.
