DME Academy Sarasota had a standout weekend at the Monster Mash soccer tournament in Tampa, hosted by the Florida Soccer School, showcasing the strength and depth of the DME program across multiple age groups.
The 2017 Boys (Tampa) were unstoppable — going 3-0 in group play before capping off their perfect weekend with a 4-0 victory over West Florida Flames in the championship match. Their composure, ball movement, and finishing ability were on full display as they secured another trophy for the club.
Meanwhile, the 2016 Boys (Sarasota) took on a unique challenge by playing up a year on the larger 9v9 field — and proved they belong at that level. The squad went undefeated (4-0) through the weekend and won the finals in penalty kicks, showing grit and confidence beyond their age.
The 2012 Boys Blue team (Sarasota) also made waves, sweeping their group (3-0) before falling just short in the final against Stella Rossa from Canada. Despite the tough loss, the boys returned home as finalists with medals and valuable experience.
Not to be outdone, the 2015 Girls from Tampa brought home a championship of their own, finishing the weekend 3-1 and dominating the top bracket final 5-1 over the Rangers. Their teamwork, creativity, and attacking play highlighted just how quickly the girls’ side of the program is growing across all DME regions.
With four teams medaling — and three lifting Championship trophies — the weekend was another powerful reminder of what’s happening within the DME Academy system: top development, top coaching, competitive excellence, and a culture built to win.
