About

John

John Taylor has been playing soccer since he was 5. Born in Paris, France he moved to Florida and played at IMG Academy.

Transitioning from player to coach, John embarked on an eight-year coaching journey, mentoring players ranging from 4 to 19 years old. His coaching repertoire spans across numerous local clubs. With a profound understanding of the game and its nuances, John identified gaps in the local soccer scene and set out to fill them, ensuring that Sarasota’s aspiring talents have the resources they need to thrive.

Currently serving on the staff of the Men’s New College of Florida team alongside the esteemed DOC Glodi Konga, John brings a wealth of experience and expertise to the field. As the Assistant Director of Coaching at DME Academy Sarasota, John is poised to make a transformative impact. His vision is clear: to cultivate an elite environment where both players and coaches are empowered to chase their dreams relentlessly.

John also participated in pro trials in France for Ligue 1 teams and is pursuing his coaching license.

“I have learned most of life’s lessons with a ball at my feet,” John reflects, highlighting the profound influence soccer has had on his personal growth. With a fervent commitment to nurturing not just soccer skills, but also the character and integrity of his players, John’s mission transcends the boundaries of the game. He takes immense pride in witnessing his players evolve, both as athletes and as individuals, instilling in them values that extend far beyond the pitch.

At DME Academy, John will coach the 2010 Boys Black and 2009/10 Boys Blue teams.
