Born and raised in Scotland, UK, Kennie has had a soccer ball at his feet (or football as he calls it) since he was able to walk. He shares that soccer has always been a big part of his life and now a big part of his family life, alongside his 4 sons (aged 18, 13, 10 and 4) who are all avid soccer fans and all play the game.

I love soccer and I’m very lucky to enjoy it from both sides of the field, as a father and a coach. Traveling to and from games and practice, spending hours at the fields, sharing moments of joy and lessons of disappointment, all have brought our family so much closer and where some of our best lifelong memories have been made.

Coach Kennie joins DME with over 10-years coaching experience across travel/competitive club soccer where he has held various positions including Head Coach and Academy Director at Illinois Fire Juniors (official youth affiliate of the Chicago Fire SC), where he developed and grew the youth academy overseeing all aspects of the program on and off the field and most recently as the Head Coach for the MS Boys at LWR Prep Academy.
