Weston Cup Win’s For DME Academy Sarasota
February 20, 2024
The 2024 version of the Weston Cup proved to be one that would challenge athletes not only from a high-level of play perspective but also one that would test athletes’ resistance against the elements. The largest soccer tournament in Florida did not disappoint and despite the rain, the Academy enjoyed great success.
“Bill and his team from the Weston Cup did an awesome job over-communicating and doing what they could despite torrential downpours across the state, high wind, and even hail.” says, Jared Antista, DME Owner
The Academy had five teams in action and overall the club boasted an impressive 11-4-4 record against some of the best teams from across the country. The 2009 boys set the tone early winning their bracket and taking home a championship trophy. The 2012 girls continue to add to the trophy case with a championship trophy as well! The 05/06 boys ended as finalists losing 1-0 in the Finals and the 2013 and 2010 boys put up impressive wins over the weekend.
It’s an incredible time to be a DME athlete and now with 20 trophies on the year, the club is seeing great success in just their first year!
